For those living with Learning Disabilities, this can make daily life challenging. It may often cause isolation, and with this can associate with Mental Health difficulties.
Welcome to our comprehensive services dedicated to supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities. Our primary objective is to provide a holistic and inclusive approach that encompasses the important people in each individual's life. We understand that some individuals may have experienced isolation and disconnection from their family and friends, and we strive to bridge that gap by fostering meaningful connections and rebuilding support networks.
MYTH
A learning disability is briefly defined as a condition in which someone has a significantly reduced ability to understand new or complex information. Autism is a lifelong developmental condition that impacts the ways in which a person communicates with and relates to people around them. The conditions can overlap: between 48-52% of people with autism have a learning disability.
People don’t “outgrow” LD. However, they have a good chance of success when given the right support. That includes appropriate intervention in school and help transitioning from school to college or vocational training. Community-based support outside of school is helpful, too.
MYTH
While researchers aren’t exactly clear what causes LD, they know what doesn’t cause it — and parental involvement in early childhood is not a factor. Other mythical causes of LD include vaccinations, bad teachers, or too much television.
MYTH
This is far from the truth! Many successful people have LD, including some famous folks — like Whoopi Goldberg, Jennifer Aniston, and Steven Spielberg. Success stories like these prove that LD challenges need not preclude a person from achieving the highest levels in society.
